Programme series with dance pieces for a young audience

“QUERFELDEIN leaves the beaten track and breaks new ground to find a direct and playful path from dance artists to young visitors – right through the unexplored terrain, in other words: querfeldein!

QUERFELDEIN is a programme series for the presentation of different contemporary dance performances for a young audience. The performances take place on weekends for families as well as during the week for groups from day-care centres and schools. In addition to repertoire pieces by tanzfuchs PRODUKTION, the artistic director of QUERFELDEIN, Barbara Fuchs, curates a programme of Cologne premieres of artistically outstanding pieces by regional and national dance artists.

The name Querfeldein stands for the concept of the programme: to take a variety of paths through very different artistic offerings and to dare unusual forms of presentation.

Querfeldein is a cooperation project between tanzfuchs PRODUKTION and ehrenfeldstudios e.V. and is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne and the Rhein Energie Stiftung Kultur.

What is the aim of QUERFELDEIN

The aim of the programme series and the outreach programme is to open up access to dance as an art form to young people in an age-appropriate way, to convey aesthetic educational content, to train sensory perception and to build bridges between the thematic content of the pieces and the living world of the young audience.
